I developed these prayer starters to help my children get started with their (hopefully lifelong) journey of independent prayer.
Some of the prayer starters are meant to help children with spontaneous prayers, and some prompt already established prayers. Each one has a simple clip art picture that goes with each prayer starter.

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2623) , there are 5 main types of prayer:
- Blessing and adoration
- Prayer of Petition (this on includes asking forgiveness)
- Prayer of Intercession
- Prayer of Thanksgiving
- Prayer of Praise
It was important to me that all the types of prayer be included.
How to Assemble the Prayer Starters on a Ring:
We printed them on paper and glued them on card stock, but I would suggest just printing them right on the card stock from the beginning. Punch a hole and put them on a ring. We got our rings at Wal-Mart, but you can make a ring from a pipe cleaner if you don’t have any.
Purchasing Options
There is an option for one family or one classroom. The classroom option covers 25 children. If you need to use this with multiple classrooms or in a group, please purchase one copy for every 25 children. If you purchase this for your family, you should not share it with other families.
There is an option for a whole school or whole parish. If you purchase this option, you may only use it within one single school or parish/religious education program.
Note: If you have a smaller parish or school, you may purchase multiple copies of the one family/single classroom version for every 25 children instead of the whole school/whole parish option. For example: if your religious education program has 100 children that you want to use a project with, you can purchase four copies of the family/single classroom option instead of a whole school/whole parish option.
